Shipping and the Environment, 2nd Edition
Wednesday 11 March, 2009
Written by Ince & Co partner Colin de la Rue and Charles B Anderson of Skuld North America, the new edition of this book will be available later this month (March 2009). When it was published in 1998, the first edition was acclaimed as 'a leading reference work for experts…a clear and practical text for a wide international readership' and referred to by the International Tanker Owners Pollution Federation as the 'Green Bible'.
This edition takes into account the major environmental issues that are front of mind for the maritime industry, including: Bunkers Convention, pollution from FPSOs and the latest on HNS; limitation of liability for pollution; wreck removal ,ballast water and anti-fouling conventions; places of refuge; the latest on flag state and port state control. Criminal liability including the fair treatment of seafarers is the subject of an entirely new chapter.
