Dishonest claims continue to cost the insurance market dearly. An Association of British Insurers report of July 2009 estimated undetected general insurance claims fraud totals £1.9bn ($3.09bn) a year, with early indications of a rise in response to the recession.
This article (first published in the 15 January issue of Insurance Day) explores the judicial approach of dishonest fraud cases in relation to recent cases.
