Welcome to the inaugural edition of our Aviation Group bulletin on Carbon Trading in the aviation sector.
We aim to publish regular bulletins outlining some of the most important and topical issues and changes in aviation law which we think you will find of interest. This issue outlines:

- How aviation emissions will be covered under the existing EU cap and trade
- Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS)
- Likely outcomes for the EU’s plans in the countdown to the forthcoming Copenhagen
- Climate Conference and further emissions reduction targets
- How carbon trading works
The purpose of this bulletin is to give our existing clients and contacts a broad overview of carbon trading in the aviation sector and also some specific information on how it might affect their business.
