International arbitration and dispute resolution in Singapore

Ince & Co partner and head of the firm's Energy & Offshore group in the Asia Pacific region, Denys Hickey, has recently been appointed as a member of the SIAC (Singapore International Arbitration Centre) Panel of Arbitrators and to the Emergency Arbitrator Panel in Singapore. He has also been appointed to the SCMA (Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration) Panel, and is on the SCMA Committee. Additionally, Denys has been appointed to the board of Maxwell Chambers in Singapore.
A partner with Ince & Co since 1986, Denys moved to Singapore at the beginning of 2010. He has extensive experience in international litigation and arbitration, including hearings under ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and LMAA rules. Denys has sat as an arbitrator, and is a Member of the Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Arbitration Club - Oil & Gas Branch. Denys has also conducted a large number of successful mediations, and has acted as a mediator.
Since its opening in 2009, Maxwell Chambers has hosted more than 150 arbitration hearings, of which more than half were international arbitrations. It provides a base in Singapore for a number of established international arbitration institutions, including SIAC, the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb) and SCMA.
Commenting on his appointments, Denys said: ' I look forward to encouraging arbitration and ADR generally in Singapore and the region and believe that my experience of international arbitrations will benefit companies seeking to arbitrate here.
