New partners and expansion at Lloyd’s for Ince & Co Insurance and Reinsurance practice
Wednesday 12 October, 2011

International commercial law firm Ince & Co is expanding its insurance and reinsurance practice with the recruitment of two new partners, making a total of four new insurance and reinsurance partners to have joined since May 2011. Additionally, the firm will be opening its new London market desk in the Lloyd's Building, hub of the London and international insurance market, on 1 November 2011.

Partner Simon Cooper joins the firm this month. He has been a senior insurance and reinsurance partner at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (BLG). Drawing on his 25 years of being instructed by the London market, Simon is editor of 'Reinsurance Practice and the Law' (Informa) and writes and lectures frequently.

Kiran Soar will join Ince & Co's insurance practice as partner in November. A partner at BLG for more than two years who acts for major underwriters and reinsurers, he will be developing his practice as a member of the specialist insurance and reinsurance group.

Chris Jefferis (pictured), global head of the firm's insurance and reinsurance group, said: "Simon’s and Kiran's appointments underline their own preferences for a firm with a focused team that is fully committed to providing high value advice to the market. Many of their clients are well known to us. At Ince, they will each be able to demonstrate their dedication to their clients, working as members of a well regarded group of partners and supported by able associates. I am pleased that they have each chosen to join us, further expanding our team following the recent recruitment of TMT insurance specialist Nick Gibbons and financial lines expert Nilam Sharma."

On 1 November the firm's commitment to the London market will be further demonstrated when it opens its London market desk in the Lloyd's Building.

Chris Jefferis commented: "This new development is an opportunity for us to cement the good relationships we have with clients and provide them with immediate access to specialist partners and staff.”
