Dreamliner Fleet Grounding: The legal angles

The recent temporary grounding of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is relatively unusual in that it has affected the worldwide fleet. What are the consequences that a fleet grounding of a specific aircraft can have for aircraft operators, including airlines, and what are the knock-on effects for their financiers and lessors? In this article Ince & Co’s global aviation team also consider what contractual and other safeguards airlines should consider to mitigate against the loss of the use of their fleets.
