He has been involved in drafting long term supply and offtake agreements, and has advised on trading disputes, the carriage of oil and gas and on shortage and contamination claims.
His trading experience also includes metals and soft commodities, subject to LME, GAFTA and FOSFA arbitration.
Denys has substantial experience of trade finance, swaps and derivatives, and both OTC and exchange traded freight futures.
He has extensive shipping experience, covering charters, carriage of goods and bills of lading.
He has also advised on the application of competition law to shipping and oil trading, as well as anti-dumping and WTO matters.
Denys has extensive experience of international litigation and arbitration. His arbitration experience includes ICC, SIAC, SCMA, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and LMAA rules.
Denys is a member of the SIAC Panel of Arbitrators and is on the Emergency Arbitrator Panel in Singapore. He is on the SCMA Panel, and on the SCMA Committee as well as being on the KLRCA Panel in Kuala Lumpur. He is also on the Board of Maxwell Chambers, which provides a state of the art venue in Singapore for arbitration and mediation.
