Master Mariner Faz Peermohamed joined Ince in 1994, having spent 14 years at sea (including having sailed as Master). He was also the Safety Superintendent at the Maersk London office. Faz qualified as a solicitor and became a Partner in 2002. He heads Ince's Global Admiralty Group.

Faz is renowned for his ability to handle all aspects of Admiralty work, from collisions, salvage, total losses, groundings and shipboard fires to general shipping disputes. He is particularly known for his expert advice in the highly charged atmosphere following a maritime casualty. Faz regularly advises CEOs and senior management from shipowning companies in relation to strategic issues.

Faz has acquired a well deserved reputation in sensitive and complex matters. This was reflected recently in his handling of the ‘Prestige’ casualty, for which Ince was awarded “Shipping Team of the Year” (2004 Global Legal Business Awards). The 2006 Chambers “Client’s Guide to the UK Legal Profession” also praised Faz’s leadership of the team on the “high-profile grounding of the Tropic Brilliance.”

Faz has strong industry links with Norway, Germany, the Middle East, India and the Far East. He is also a fluent Hindi speaker.

“Sources are impressed by Faz Peermohamed's “proactivity, his ability to see the strategic issues involved in cases, and his ability to solve or clarify the consequences in multiple jurisdictions.”

In addition to his recognised expertise in Admiralty matters and work for shipowners and charterers, Faz is regularly instructed on behalf of Hull Underwriters and P&I Clubs on contentious marine insurance matters.
