Georg's practice is focussed on ship financing and corporate law. He acts for German and international banks, drafting loan and security documentation on a regular basis for the financing of all kinds of ships, including superyachts. He also acts in the financing of other maritime assets, such as containers and (cross-border) leases. Georg advises German investment houses on the structuring of closed-end funds.His corporate law practice covers the establishment of all kinds of German companies, with an emphasis on joint ventures. He also advises on M&A projects focussing on the maritime sector.
Recent cases include:
- advising the agent on the re-financing of three container vessels;
- advising a bank on the fleet-financing of bulker carriers and tankers;
- advising a shipowner in connection with mezzanine financing.
Georg regularly assists sellers and buyers in the sale and acquisition of vessels, including re-sales of newbuildings. His practice includes advising clients on all issues in connection with the negotiation of shipbuilding contracts. He also advises on the sale and purchase of yachts, both newbuildings and second hand yachts.
In addition, Georg prepares pool agreements and ship management contracts and advises shipowners on all aspects concerning the registration of vessels and the change of flag.
