Jamila joined Ince & Co as a trainee in 2002 and became a partner in 2011. She has a widepractice covering all aspects of shipping and international trade and commodities disputes andtransactions.

Jamila is the main London anchor partner for the Monaco global team. She works very closely with many of our Monaco based clients to offer expertise with an international reach.

Jamila is a key member of the firm's Italy, Turkey and Norway teams and regularly visits those countries. She also acts for a number of Greek clients, drawing on experience gained from spending a year in Ince & Co's Piraeus office.

Jamila acts for shipowners, operators and charterers on a variety of dry shipping matters. She handles LMAA, LCIA and ad-hoc arbitrations and Commercial Court disputes in most areas of the firm's dry shipping practice including charterparty disputes, bills of lading and cargo claims.

Jamila has a particular emphasis on ship sale and purchase disputes and shipbuilding disputes, with recent cases including Rainy Sky v Kookmin Bank, a case concerning the construction of a refund guarantee.

Jamila acts for oil and commodities trading clients in contentious and non-contentious matters, including at the High Court and in arbitration. She also deals with matters of enforcement.

Jamila is experienced in a range of non-contentious matters for trading clients, including drafting of shipbuilding contracts, ship sale and purchase contracts, joint venture agreements and commodities sale and purchase contracts.
