Katherine joined Ince & Co as a trainee solicitor in 2003 and qualified in 2005. Since qualifying, her focus has been on general commercial dispute resolution and non-marine insurance and reinsurance dispute resolution (litigation, arbitration, ADR) in the London and international markets.

Katherine has spent time on two secondments in the London market; the first with the large international underwriter Omega Syndicate 958 in the Lloyd's building and the second with one of the world's largest international insurance and reinsurance brokers, Willis Group Ltd.

She also mentors law students at the College of Law and in 2010 completed the Three Peaks Challenge, raising money for a charity connected with Ince & Co.

Katherine acts for underwriters and brokers in the insurance and reinsurance field. Her cases are a mix of both Court and arbitration, using ADR to settle cases. She has been involved in a number of cases over the years involving fraud and is currently involved in a large reinsurance arbitration proceeding, having recently settled such a case at the end of 2010. Katherine also works on political risk and brokers negligence cases and again settled one of each type of case at the end of 2010.

Her most recent successful insurance Court case is Kamidian v Holt, in which she acted for underwriters in avoiding a fine art insurance policy on the grounds of misrepresentation and non-disclosure.

The most recent general commercial Court case in which Katherine was involved includes Biffa Waste Services Limited & Others v Maschinenfabrik & Others, where she acted for a contractor in successfully defending contractual and tortious claims for damage caused by a fire at a recycling plant.

Throughout her time at Ince & Co, Katherine has been involved in a number of cases alleging fraud. Most recently, from 2008 to the end of 2010, she was involved in a large Court case known as the Novoship litigation.

She also works on actions to recover debts, which are particularly poignant in the current economic climate, and in April 2011 made another successful recovery in the case of K-Telecom CJSC v AuroraTel Ltd.
