Renaud Barbier-Emery specialises in the development and finance of energy projects.
Renaud advises E&P companies and contractors on major energy transactions and tenders. Among his clients, many of whom are publicly-listed, are the owners of the world’s largest fleets of offshore drilling units and FPSOs.
Renaud has extensive experience of drafting and negotiating upstream oil & gas contracts, joint ventures, acquisition/divestiture and financing documentation, EPC contracts, shipbuilding/conversion contracts, and the whole range of onshore/offshore oil & gas agreements.He also advises on abandonment and decommissioning issues, and renewable energy projects, particularly offshore wind and geothermal.
Renaud also has expertise in dispute resolution, in particular in connection with offshore oil & gas and shipbuilding projects.
Renaud was educated in France, the United States and England (Oxford University), and is bilingual in English and French.
