Richard trained at Ince & Co's London office and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2010.
He advises on a range of shipping and trade matters. His shipping practice involves advising international clients in respect of various disputes, in particular charterparty, shipbuilding and cargo disputes. Recent work has involved assisting ship-finance banks in the successful recovery of a multi-million dollar loan, through hard enforcement against the assets of the borrowers.
Richard also acts for oil trading clients in respect of contractual disputes, including quality disputes and cases of non-delivery/non-acceptance. Currently, the majority of his commodities work involves acting on behalf of soft commodity sellers, both in drafting contracts and advising on the wide variety of contentious issues that arise in this area..
