Master Mariner Richard Oakley joined Ince & Co’s admiralty practice in London in June 2008. In November 2008 he moved to Ince's Shanghai office where headed up the casualty investigation team. Richard returned to the London office in December 2011.
Before joining Ince & Co, Richard spent five years at a leading International Group P&I Club, where he handled the full range of P&I and FD&D matters. Prior to that he worked at another leading shipping law firm for two years. Before embarking on his legal career he spent nine years in the Merchant Navy where he worked on a wide variety of vessel types and qualified as a Master Mariner.
Richard holds an honours degree in Shipping Business and Shipping Law.
