Master Mariner Richard Springthorpe joined Ince & Co's admiralty practice in London in May 2008 and is primarily involved in the investigation and handling of casualties worldwide.
Before coming ashore Richard spent 13 years at sea serving on a variety of vessel types, including eight years with Stolt-Nielsen on chemical tankers, Cable & Wireless cable repair ships and four years on VLCCs. Before joining Ince he was Master on a product/chemical tanker for Northern Marine.
Richard has dealt with a wide range of casualties, including collisions, groundings, unsafe port claims, pollution, salvage cases and hostage situations/security breaches.
Richard holds a BSc (Hons) in Marine Technology and Navigation which was gained from Plymouth University in 1999.
