Our dedicated energy & offshore team has vital hands-on experience of dealing with the issues which arise in both onshore and offshore oil and gas pipeline projects, systems and associated facilities.
We regularly advise on disputes involving oil and gas pipelines, flow stations, pump stations, compressor and meter stations. We represent contractors involved in the design, procurement, installation and construction of such facilities. We understand the dynamics of turnkey projects and the legal and practical issues surrounding EPC and EPIC contracts.
We draft pipeline contracts, handle bid documentation and contract negotiations and advise contractors on the scope and operation of their contracts as well as on issues surrounding:
- the development and finalisation of the FEED
- delays and project overruns
- completion and commissioning.
We assist in resolving the wide variety of disputes which can arise between client, contractor and sub-contractor, in arbitration, court and ADR. Often our guidance prevents a difference from escalating into a dispute. If this requires on-the-ground assistance during the project, we provide it.
