WHAT WE DO / INSURANCE & REINSURANCE / CORPORATE AND REGULATORY

Ince & Co’s corporate and regulatory lawyers offer a full service to insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries worldwide. Our long history of advising the insurance industry means that we understand our clients’ needs and can provide the specialist legal advice to help them achieve their commercial objectives.

Our insurance regulatory capabilities encompass the full range of FSA work including authorisation and Part IV permission, Approved Persons, Appointed Representatives, EU passporting, Client Money rules, regulatory capital requirements (including Solvency II preparation) and FSA supervision generally. In terms of Lloyd’s matters we are well-placed to assist on Lloyd’s Bye-Law and general compliance issues.

In the commercial sphere, our advice and drafting skills are sought on policy wordings and on products from the traditional to the cutting edge. We bring substantial dispute experience to bear when drafting insurance and reinsurance wordings at both a bespoke and market committee level. We are also able to advise on distribution arrangements (such as white-labelling and bancassurance), fronting arrangements, the establishment and operation of captives and run-off matters.

Our corporate abilities in the insurance sphere include company and branch set-up, acquisitions (shares and Part VIIs), joint venture agreements, re-organisations and schemes of arrangement. Our capabilities also extend to matters involving corporate members of Lloyd’s.
