WORK AT INCE / BUSINESS SERVICES / IT
Nick Clark, IT Training Officer
I started work at Ince towards the end of 2001 and although I took a break for a year - I returned and have remained!
The reasons?
The main reason would have to be the opportunities I have been given to develop and progress my career. Ince has changed and grown considerably over the time that I have been working here and as a result our department has developed from a small, fairly generalised, six-person team to a more structured and role focused department of 13.
In conjunction with this expansion, my role has also developed - from a Helpdesk Analyst, to a senior member of the team, and now to the training role which I currently perform. My strengths are also recognised and encouraged and as a result I have been able to develop my role to make best use of them.
Another significant reason for me choosing to stay at Ince is that as a firm it has a unique feel. When the firm was smaller it had a friendly informality - an almost family-like atmosphere. Today, although Ince is much bigger on a global scale it still manages to retain a healthy amount of this special Ince-vibe.
The mix of daily challenges in my work combined with a sense of belonging to a cohesive group with my colleagues makes Ince what it is. My eight years at the firm help attest to this but there are colleagues both within the IT department and across the Business Services departments that might look on me as a newcomer!
