I came to Ince & Co on a two week work experience placement that led to a full time job – and I’m still here! I started by answering the telephones, manning reception and opening the post as an office junior. Over time, I’ve been able to work my way up through various different positions leading to my current role as, essentially, a Legal Secretary Team Leader.
It’s the friendliness of the firm that convinced me it was the right place to build my career. One thing that struck me right from day one was how approachable the lawyers are. There is no stuffiness and you are treated with respect.
If you work hard and show willing, the firm will support you and help you develop your career. It has certainly been the case for me. The work of a Legal Secretary is interesting because you’re assisting partners on their cases and projects, as well as the typing and corresponding with clients. It can be stressful at times, but it is incredibly satisfying when you are working as part of a team. You feel like you are making a valued contribution.
