WORK AT INCE / TRAINEE RECRUITMENT / SINGAPORE / QUALIFYING AS AN ENGLISH SOLICITOR

We are especially interested in hearing from qualified Singapore solicitors looking to join us and, at the same time, work towards admission as an English Solicitor under the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme (QLTS).

An applicant under this route should be a newly-qualified Singapore solicitor. The QLTS requires lawyers qualified in other jurisdictions to undertake some assessments and become qualified in England & Wales. We are able to provide the experience and training in English law required to pass these assessments. We welcome suitably qualified applicants to spend what is, effectively, a shortened 18 month ‘training contract’ with us.

Those applying under the QLTS will need to be qualified as Singapore solicitors by the time they join us. We suggest that applicants under the QLTS apply to us only after they have secured pupilage with a Singapore law firm.

In exceptional cases Ince Singapore may also consider applications from candidates who are not qualified as Singapore lawyers but intend to qualify as  an English solicitor through completing a qualifying law degree or the Graduate Diploma in Law (“GDL”) and the Legal Practice Course (“LPC”) in the UK. An applicant under this route will have to complete a 2 year training contract, 6 to 12 months of which will be spent in our London office.

For further information on qualifying as a solicitor in England & Wales, please contact the Solicitors Regulation Authority via www.sra.org.uk.
