WORK AT INCE / BUSINESS SERVICES / ACCOUNTS

Sarah Plume, Management Accountant

I joined the firm in November 2004. I have a degree in accounting and was part-way through studying for my professional exams for the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA). At my old firm there were few opportunities to gain the type of experience I needed to achieve the full qualification, so I applied for the role of Management Accountant at Ince

I gained the full ACCA qualification in August 2007 and I couldn’t have done it without Ince. The firm really helped me along the way. They paid for courses and encouraged me to attend any relevant classes or seminars. Ince have always been 100% supportive of me gaining extra knowledge, expanding my skills base and pushing myself further.

I complete all the London accounts for the firm and also deal with the overseas office in France. My immediate supervisor is the Finance Manager, and there are two other accountants who deal with the other overseas offices. We also have a Trainee Accountant who joined us in 2008.

Since joining the firm I’ve been encouraged to take on a supervisory role. This involves helping the Finance Manager, deputising when he is away, and arranging cover if any of the five cashiers are off on holiday or sick.

The people I work with are very genuine and everyone gets on well. Whatever your position here, everyone is treated equally. People tend to join the firm and stay here for years, because it’s such a nice environment to work in.
