I came to Ince when I was about six months qualified. I had previously worked for a magic circle firm, where I'd qualified into one of the litigation departments, which just wasn't what I had been hoping for. I was usually one of several solicitors on a major case, doing the sort of work I would expect a paralegal or trainee to be doing, not a qualified solicitor. There was very little scope for me to get involved in running cases until I was much more senior and, because I was usually working on only one, big case, my experience was quite narrow.
I wanted more responsibility, and a wider variety of higher-quality work and I knew I wouldn't get it in my old firm for some time. I was also attracted by the improved work/life balance that Ince offered.
I knew very quickly that I'd come to the right place. It's a much tighter, more friendly team, and I was immediately involved in many more varied and high-quality matters than I was working on before.
At Ince, there is a much greater opportunity to get involved in and take more responsibility on your cases, both big and small. The training is excellent and there are more opportunities for you to have a say in the direction of your career. You really can make your mark, get noticed and get ahead.
