“Perhaps unusually for a City firm, at Ince you are just as likely to be working directly with a partner, as you are in a larger team. This means that from a very early stage you build up good working relationships with everyone that you work with. This is certainly true for a considerable proportion of the cases I’m working on and often means that a significant amount of the day-to-day case handling and client contact is my responsibility. Although at times this can be demanding, I have learnt far more than I ever could have if I’d just been a member of a large team. That said, I’ve also had the opportunity to work on more substantial cases as part of a larger team.
One of the most challenging, but also most satisfying, jobs I have had to do was to take a witness statement from a Nigerian Counsel at least 20 years my senior while the partner handling the case was away travelling. It was quite daunting, but also a fantastic experience.”
